  This Year's "Love" Conventions -- The JW Version of "Love-In"

  reports from the locals who attending the recent "love never fails" convention reported little-to-no references to the more brutal jw doctrines, i.e.

  no mentions of the blood ban, no mothers refusing to take phone calls from her estranged daughter, no bunkers, etc.... just lots of "warm and fuzzy" videos featuring loads of hugging and tears at places across the globe.

  Hugging, love-ins, peace, that's so 1960s. They are kinda late to pick up on that fad.

  All that supposed love but if we hear one word or criticism you are an apostate that we will shun!

  i took my wife to the airport today to pick up a 'delegate' from the us.

  on the way, she was almost crying with joy when she read that jw's will have free public transportation if they wear their lapel badge and have matching id.

  Thanks, Blondie for your truthful input. A few years ago, I had some friends in Argentina get excited about coming to the U.S for the International Convention,..... until they saw the price! Evidently, God isn't rich enough or is having a recession in heaven to supply the funds for their trip.

  The WTBTS has learned they have a submissive customer base of rich Jehovah's Witnesses that need the emotional propping up or publishers that want to soar with the Eagles and they are willing to pay big-time money for attending a special assembly in a foreign country, for the Stories they Can Tell. (Sounds like a Jimmy Buffett Song). WTBTS has learned that selling the "Brotherhood is an Extremely Profitable Market."

  Peaceful, trustworthy people that you are soon/imminently going to share the earthly paradise with, picking you up at the airport, taking you out to restaurants, sightseeing, visiting Regional Wineries dating back to the Romans, and visiting Bethels. If Lucky, (by coincidence) You may even be introduced to a Missionary or Circuit Overseer and their Wife. You may/could enjoy the happy hour with the CO. Wow, what an opportunity. The WTBTS doesn't pay a penny for the tour guides as they are volunteers counting their Theocratic Activity time. The CO's and wives, pioneers, etc will gladly share their time as not only are they counting it, it keeps the Game going. I recommend buying their drinks. (It's Like when everyone is bankrupt in Monopoly but the winner wants to play some more so he lends money to the other players, but after a half an hour, he still wins.)

  i am totally lost.

  can someone explain what is happening with this issue, please?i read online that gb is trying to coverup or defend themselves and their organization... like what happened?

  isn't this horrible thing happening in all of the religions over the world...for example catholic church has got multiple scandals...but i just don't get it.

  Ashley Collins, I'm not active, have not been disfellowshipped, will not disassociate. Years ago, I walked in the KH, approached two elders in a backroom doing some paperwork, simply resigned, walked out, and have never returned.

  Lately, I've been working on disappearing from the internet, it can be done, it just takes a little effort. I've changed phone numbers a few times and closed all social media accounts that were in my name. I will change identity here also.

  Bizarre image that puzzles me -- any tips?

  i am a sometimes weather buff and enjoy the various services our national weather service provides.. interestingly, a few days ago (7/26/19 at 6:20 a.m. to be exact) i was looking at our arkansas statewide weather radar image during breakfast.

  on that image, something appeared bizarre so i decided to do a screen capture on my samsung tablet.. today, i am still puzzled so i decided to share it with others in the hope that someone may offer solutions to the puzzle.

  The information sighted at JWFacts is excellent. GB has dealt with pedophilia as a sin and not a crime. Can't lose members to the jail cells may bring reproach on Jw's. I say, Lock-em-up! We see where 50 years of covering up pedophilia have led them. As mentioned the cases are stacked up in a holding pattern like planes waiting for the runway to get cleared of the snow.

  The Boy Scouts of America have had a problem since their inception. However, Kenneth Lannings, the FBI agent who helped develop the BSA's Youth Protection Plan, wrote that "A skilled pedophile who can get children into a situation where they must change clothing or stay with him overnight will almost always succeed in seducing them."[11]

  The GB will never seek someone like Kenneth Lannings, a "worldly person" to help them solve this problem, therefore, they will continue to pay for it. I know that when my child was young and we were still active, my wife and I had a law that he/she would always have one of us go to the bathroom, no sleepovers, Period!

  I went to the elder's school that JWFacts mentions where they started to instruct the elders the necessity of two witnesses, and the speaker must have said "call the legal department" 50 times. I sat there and said to myself, who is running this organization the lawyers or the GB? From the first time I heard of the two witness rule I was vocal about it not being the morally right thing to do and that they were essentially covering it up. I was counseled.

  seriously, it’s getting to a point that you can’t make a negative comment about someone without being charged as a racist, homophobe or sexist!

  if you criticize a female, you are obviously sexist.

  if you criticize someone who happens to be gay, you must hate homosexuals.

  Why are they still so obsessed with Dr Spock?

  comment in today's wt, was about dr spock, and his book "that every parent in the world read" apparently (!).

  if it wasn't for the wt's obsessions with the guy i would have no idea who he was, neither i suspect would the vast majority of the congregation.

  there has been a mass of parenting books written since and yet they keep harking back to this one.. do they have no idea how out of touch this makes them seem?.

  In respect to which specific point that Dr. Spock had promoted that you are referencing I'm not sure, how about the many years of JWs taking their misbehaving children out to the Kingdom Hall porch and whipping them with a large wooden spoon while the neighbors could see and hear the screams of a child as they were getting the crap beat out of them. What a witness to Jehovah!

  Review: 2019 Regional Convention

  so here's some random highlights from the convention this year:.

  in a couple of videos, they promote a very negative attitude about bettering yourself and taking career opportunities.

  for instance, in one video a boy is either getting a college offer or at a job fair, i can't remember exactly, but first he imagines getting better off financially, and then he turns around and imagines losing his money and losing his nice car.

  How does any of this tie into the theme, "Love Never Fails"? Oh, don't love yourself you are all losers.
